University of Manitoba
Welcome to the University of Manitoba – Western Canada’s first university. Founded more than 140 years ago, and located in the heart of the country, we are the region’s largest and only research intensive university offering over 100 academic programs, including professional disciplines such as medicine, law and engineering.
Our energetic university community is comprised of close to 30,000 students, over 8,900 faculty and staff, and 138,000 alumni in 137 countries. Over 16 per cent of our current students are international, representing 115 countries.
The University of Manitoba is located on Anishinabe and Metis traditional land and is home to a thriving community of Indigenous researchers, staff and more than 2,000 First Nations, Metis and Inuit students, including over 3,580 graduate students — one of the largest Indigenous student bodies in the country.
Red River College
Red River College is one of Manitoba’s largest institutes of applied learning and award winning research, with more than 200 full- and part-time degree, diploma and certificate options. Through hands-on learning opportunities and state-of-the-art instruction, we prepare our students to become leaders in their fields — while also ensuring they can meet changing industry demands, and contribute to the province’s economic growth.
We are committed to elevating student success by delivering innovative programming and hands-on training opportunities, taught by industry leaders, in advanced training facilities.
Students come to Red River College to increase their knowledge and learn skills that will make them more employable. They choose the College because we provide students with opportunities to practice problem solving, hone their innovation skills, strengthen their ability to communicate and work within teams, and acquire real-life experience by working with employers.
We are preparing students to meet the needs of today’s economy and preparing them for the jobs of the future so Manitoba’s industries continue to stay ahead of the curve. It’s why we say with great enthusiasm – ‘What we’re doing is working.’
